For Stress Awareness Month, voters considered the role of play in combating stress, and how they might be able to incorporate more of this in their day-to-day lives.

Secondary, 16+ & College voters were asked: “Would more play reduce stress?”, Primary 7-11 voters discussed: “Would playing outside more improve your mental health?” and Primary 5-7 voters considered: “Does playing outdoors make you happier?”

I think this was our first unanimous vote of all 8 interns. We called back to our wellbeing work on stress and self-care and decided that all types of people can benefit from developing ways of reducing stress through play, and this will be different for everyone.

85% of 7-11-year-olds said that playing outside more would improve their mental health.

84% of Secondary, College and 16+ students agreed, arguing that more play would reduce stress.

Some students said that playing outside more would help them focus at school and reduce their stress.
