For this VoteTopic, voters marked Anti-Bullying Week by reflecting on the policies and schemes in place to help tackle bullying, both in school and in the workplace. The theme for this year's Anti-Bullying Week was "Make a Noise About Bullying" and it took place between 13th - 17th November 2023.
Primary & Secondary voters considered, “Does your school do enough to deal with bullying?”, whilst 16+ & College voters discussed, “Is enough being done to tackle workplace bullying?”
"We believe that our school has a lot of support around school. We have Talk Time Champions, trusted adults and lots of information provided in assemblies. We have a Buddy Bench which is on the playground to support children who need a friend."
"Students feel that you have to report bullying too many times before the school takes action. The school prioritises superficial issues over bullying (e.g. uniform etc)."
"We found the "grey area" to be an important part of the issue. Different people in different situations need different ways of handling bullying; a workplace cannot catch all the possible issues with a simple bullying policy."
