For this VoteTopic, young people discussed homelessness by considering the support needed to tackle the issue. They thought more closely about where this support should be coming from and those aged 7 and above voted on the question, "Is it everyone's responsibility to end homelessness?" Meanwhile, voters aged 5-7 voted on the question, "Is more help needed for people who are homeless?"

  • 70% voted 'Yes'.
64% of Secondary students voted 'No' to the question, Is it everyone's responsibility to end homelessness?"

  • Secondary, 16+ & College voters all answered the question, "Is it everyone's responsibility to end homelessness?"
  • 64% of Secondary students said 'No', while 55% of 16+ & College students voted 'No'.
Some 'No' voters said that it is the government's responsibility to tackle homelessness.

  • Some 'No' voters argued that it is the government's responsibility to end homelessness and not everyone's.
  • However, many 'Yes' voters said that everyone should do what they can to tackle the issue of homelessness.
